About Osteopath Experts Gateshead
Claire Hawes, Osteopath
Claire has worked in osteopathy for several years. However, her career in healthcare including specialist roles in mental health, began almost 20 years ago. She brings vast experience to the clinic and utilises a variety of techniques and approaches to provide a tailored treatment programme for each client.
Claire prides herself on achieving consistently positive results for all clients and may use acupuncture techniques and kinesiology taping to complement her work if she feels it’s in the best interests for her client. Her naturally friendly and open communication style puts her clients at ease, which is crucial to illicit the most effective treatment.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of practice life for Claire is meeting a wide variety of people and being able to truly improve how they feel on both physical and psychological levels. With Claire’s unique background, she has a deep understanding that physical pain can often cause psychological suffering through fear, anxiety, poor-quality sleep, and depression; and she knows that psychological pain and anxiety can eventually manifest in physical pain and dysfunction in the body. Her clients, who return time and time again whenever they need her help, is testament to her knowledge and the trusting relationship that Claire adopts naturally with people.
Claire’s passion to evolve her work, and her continuing professional development requirements, ensure that Claire is kept up to date with the latest techniques and developments in the field.

Jade Kirkup, Massage Therapist
I have always wanted to help people feel better which ignited my passion for massage therapy and led to me training in a range of massage techniques. I enjoy creating an environment where my clients feel comfortable. I always listen to clients and their needs and always tailor the massage to suit them, so that I can work on helping to ease pain or simply to relax.
I enjoy helping others and have a keen interest in mental health. I believe it’s so important to look after ourselves both physically and mentally and through massage therapy I can help clients achieve this whilst I progress through my training to become a clinical psychologist.
The most important thing of course is how I feel? I can honestly say much better than when I first met with Claire. My balance and flexibility are improving. I suffer less pain, cramps and discomfort.
I still have a way to go and I expect treatment to be a lifelong process now. As maintaining this improving condition needs to be worked at. If you are nervous or sceptical about these treatments please be reassured you are in good safe hands with Claire. I wish I had found Claire sooner.
